Greta Hammond

I was born in September 1988 in Esquel, a city at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Argentine Patagonia.

I am a visual artist and teacher.

I am currently researching the fusion and intersections between painting and poetic writing. This allows me to play with forms, colors and words, thinking of the artistic process as a world that unfolds as time and questions generate new images.

I currently live in Madrid.

I make affective maps born from

travels,

walks in nature

and my everyday life.

I construct landscapes that lie at the

intersection between poetry and visual imagery.

I love to collect objects,

photographs,

pieces of nature,

words,

woods and books.

I archive them, paint them, write about them, and record them.

I work from fragments,

assembling series that often stem from a specific experience or feeling.

I use repetition as a form of creation; I create books, papers like pages, notebooks, collections of poems and prints.

I believe in art as a transformative process, not only for the creator but also for the viewer who enables other possible worlds.
