Affective Cartographies

Esquel Melipal Cultural Center. July 2019.

I collect fragments that I find in different places, words, letters, stories, testimonies, book pages, photos, postcards…

In this solo show I intend to connect these pieces, group them, and generate an open narrative form.

The pieces are laden with memory. I conceive them as parts of my own biography: who I am, what I collect, what I dream, what remains after a special experience.

This "affective circumstances" invites us to look at the details, lines, subtle changes in color, texts as forms, ...

I want to create a garden, a space in constant bloom, where life can be felt in every detail. The exhibition will feature a play between words and images; the artist's books will converse with the paintings, photographs and objects.

I believe art is a bridge between who we are, what we want to say, and what dwells within us.
