LOVIN’ MATTER
Solo show - Kaplan projects – Palma de Mallorca
October-December 2026
The movement of the sea visible through a window,
the magnetism of an accumulation of flowers,
a book displaying a collection of sketches,
the river that flows through the valley where I was born,
a tree that seems like a presence in the middle of a field,
an exotic orchid blooming in my balcony in Madrid…
Some fragments hold an affective memory, a piece of something lived that has left its mark on me. The works emerge as pages from a visual diary, a way of telling the story of the world in which matter is not merely a support, but something alive: freshly ploughed earth awaiting the seeds carried by the wind to settle slowly, gathering traces, memories and the beginnings of new landscapes.
Journeys, walks, objects and my personal archive are catalysts for exploration in my practice. Throughout this process, I observe, collect and preserve photographs, poems, drawings and materials that find common ground within the pictorial field. As they pass through painting, these images enter into dialogue, merge, lose their boundaries and tell other stories.
The world is a blank canvas
where affective matter gradually covers
the places that matter.
Each piece emerges from a sensitive selection of reality, an idea activated through an encounter with the world and one that, in some way, calls to be painted. Lovin’ Matter grows as a record of an encounter; a way of holding onto something that, however fleeting, has remained as a shape, a line or a stain.
The works form a territory made of presences, memories, nature and affect. An in-between space built by visuality and poetry, the visible and the felt; an open map that invites viewers to observe, to travel and to discover themselves in a texture or an imagined place, in an animal, in the sea, in the mountains or among the stones…
